If there is one thing that every industry has learned in the last couple of years is that there’s no other way than to embrace new technology to future-proof your business. We have seen ups and downs in the real estate world when COVID-19 hit us all, which opened our eyes to the need for tech-based solutions.
As a result, new technology is gradually revolutionizing how we interact with clients, manage properties, and conduct business in the property services and management world. AI-powered chatbots enable faster customer service responses; VR allows prospective tenants to view properties without leaving home; and blockchain technology helps streamline transactions by eliminating paperwork.
But more needs to be done on the maintenance side of the property services. After observing her husband’s daily engagements with customers and vendors as a Commercial Building Manager in downtown Toronto, Ittela Ali identified a significant technology gap. Though it started as a curiosity, with Jeff Moore’s help, it later became a research project. After speaking with many such professionals, it was clear that property service management professionals will be hugely benefited from a platform to operate and track everything related to keeping the property and the tenants safe and profitable.
Canada has over 15 million residential buildings and over 480,000 commercial and institutional buildings, including offices, retail and warehouses. The US has roughly 100 million single-family homes (SFH), 5.2 million multifamily residential buildings (everything from duplexes to large high rises containing 40 million housing units), 5.5 million commercial buildings, 350,000 industrial buildings and 240,000 military buildings. Approximately 111 million buildings in total.
ReMendIt Inc. was founded by Jeff Moore (JM Tech Labs Inc.) and Ittela Ali in early 2022 to address the need in the market for a technology solution to streamline better Service Requests, Vendor Management and day-to-day workflow of Building Maintenance in the Commercial and Residential Property Management space. Through many conversations with individuals and organizations that manage properties for a living, we realized that there has to be a better way to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget. We found that there was no purpose-built Workflow Management software available on the market, and this has caused Property Management Professionals everywhere to struggle with their day-to-day work.
We want to simplify day-to-day services and building maintenance processes to reduce operating costs and provide a safe environment for tenants. Property managers have unique needs and responsibilities and deserve more than generic workflow management software to complete their daily work.
